Equipment Used in our Music Video- Erin

The equipment used in our music video, consisted of a Canon HD camera, a tripod and an iPhone 6.

Most of our music video was filmed on the Canon HD camera. We used this camera as it  produced a clear and professional image that will help to make our music video look as high standard as real music videos. We also used this camera as it was easily portable and therefore we could set up and film in different locations quickly and with ease.

At least half of our shots involved the use of a tripod in order to steady our shot and make them look as professional as possible. The tripod was also used to get the right height for some of our shots without having to freehand and allow our arms to ache. The panning shots within our music video were created using the tripod as it allowed us to fix the camera into place and then use the handle smoothly pan from right to left and left to right.

We used an IPhone 6 to film  a small section of our music video that was part of the feedback we received for our rough cut 2. We used this piece of equipment as it was more accessible at the time than the camera as it was only to film a 10 second clip. Similar to the camera we used , the iPhone camera created a clear and precise image for our music video, although quality between the two did vary.

To edit our music video, we used IMovie. This software allowed us to crop, cut and edit clips together to ensure that our music video told a story and looked professional. In order to gain experience of this editing program, before we started on our music video, we used IMovie  to practice lip synching a video that used music from a phone to match the music on the Mac.
