Our music video has a strong narrative throughout and is a love story between a man in his 20s and the woman he is about to propose to. At the beginning of the music video the woman comes home from work after a long day and goes into the kitchen to find that her boyfriend has cooked dinner and there is a candle lit table as well as a bunch of flowers. The visuals show them laughing and talking and then the camera goes into his eye and blurs to show that what we see next will be his thoughts and not something that has actually happened. Some of the visuals and lyrics literally match each other. The story starts with him coming home and seeing her asleep in front of the TV so he pulls the sheets up her to keep her warm. then the camera pans round the room and goes up close to a photo frame with a recent picture of them in it. This photo then flicks through the photos of what he imagines to happen in the future for example a picture of her pregnant and of them with older children and then them being old people. Then the camera comes out from their old people photo into a lounge when they are actually old and they are with their grandchildren. From this setting it goes back into a photo of them when they are in their 20s again which brings the camera out the man performing at a piano, singing 'Grow Old With Me'. As the story is then back at a time which is near present (they are still in their 20s), there are shots of them getting ready to go out for dinner and he is trying to rush his girlfriend to get ready quickly but then looks at her and thinks about how beautiful she is and then doesn't mind that she took so long. From this there are shots of them at the park together messing around and in-between these shots there will be performance shots of him at the piano again. This dream of the future of his comes to an end when the camera goes into his eye and then tracks out of his eye where he was at dinner in the very beginning. He then gets onto one knee and proposes to his girlfriend which shows that all the music video was his thoughts for the future and what he was explaining to his girlfriend while he proposed.

why this song/ artist will work for us
This song works for us because it is a positive love song sung by an Indie pop artist called Tom Odell. It enables us to create a strong narrative in our music video and due to the genre we can have low budget settings that will suit the style. We like this song because it is not about heartbreak but is happy which allows us to use high key lighting and create a romantic feel and setting to the music video. We both like the artist Tom Odell and think that he produces good music. As Tom Odell does not have many music videos of his own for his songs it is good because it has allowed us to come up with original ideas and not just copy the artist.
